What are the health benefits of Oregano oil? Some of the health benefits are improving gut health, reduce inflammation, and lowering cholesterol. Oregano oil is a fragrant herb commonly used in Italian food. Some of the antibiotic compounds of oregano are phenols, terpenes and terpenoids.

Studies have shown that oregano oil can help lower cholesterol levels. There was a study on 48 people who had mild cholesterol levels.  32 participants were given 0.85 ounces of oregano in distilled water after each meal. After 90 days the oregano group had lower cholesterol levels compared to those who were not given oregano in distilled water.
