What are the symptoms of too much caffeine? Anything more than 1000 mg or more caffeine per day can cause symptoms such as nervousness, jitteriness, insomnia, etc. A good example of how much caffeine a 16 oz Starbuck coffee contains is about 310 mg of caffeine.

Insomnia

Another negative symptom of too much caffeine is insomnia. Research studies have found that higher intake of caffeine increases the amount of time it takes to fall asleep. What most people don’t know is the amount of caffeine that your body can withstand without it affecting your sleep is based on your genetics and DNA as well as other factors.

Blood Pressure Levels

Research studies have shown that caffeine can remain in your system for up to 5 hours. And that range can be anywhere from 2  to 9 hours depending on the individual. A high amount of caffeine based off numerous studies can also raise blood pressure levels.

Studies show that high caffeine intake can be shown to raise blood pressure during exercise in healthy people. High dosages of caffeine can also lead to a rapid heart rate, especially in young people. And it can lead to an altered heartbeat rhythm which is known as atrial fibrillation.

There was a case study in a woman who took a massive dosage of caffeine powder and tablets in an attempted suicide. And the results of this led to a rapid heart rate, kidney failure and other serious health issues.

Urination

Another common issue from consuming too much caffeine is you will be going to the bathroom constantly to pee. So, research studies show it will significantly increase your urination. So that’s why it is best to consume caffeine from low to moderate levels, and always to avoid any of these negative unhealthy symptoms.

The Bottom Line is the symptoms of too much caffeine are rapid heart rate, insomnia, higher blood pressure levels, etc. Anything more than 1000 mg of caffeine per day is too much caffeine for the body and will cause a lot of unhealthy negative symptoms.
