What is Okra water? Okra water is water that is embedded with an okra vegetable. You would slice the okra pods and then soak them in the water. One of the health benefits of uncooked Okra is the high antioxidant effect of it. And it also has strong anti-inflammatory effects.

  • Potassium- 299 milligrams (mg)
  • Vitamin C- 23 mg
  • Vitamin K- 31 mg

  • Folate- 60 micrograms

Okra has a reliable source of fiber which your body needs to help manage your digestive system. And the result of that is more manageable bowel movements. A 2023 research study revealed that taking 1000 mg of powdered okra is linked to lower blood glucose and cholesterol levels.

There have been some health claims that okra water can help manage blood sugar levels. A 2019 research study showed that okra water improved blood glucose levels in rats with hyperglycemia. A 2021 research study in Indonesia in 30 people with Type 2 diabetes found that Okra water reduced blood sugar levels.

There are no real side effects to drinking Okra water. The only potential side effect is that Okra contains oxalates and if you consume a high number of oxalates, it can cause kidney stones.
