  • Saturated Fat- 7%
  • Monounsaturated Fat- 64%
  • Polyunsaturated Fat- 28%

The nutrient health fats of Canola are the following:

  • Calories- 124
  • Vitamin E- 16% of the Daily Value
  • Vitamin K- 8% of the Daily Value

Canola is an oil that is commonly found in grocery stores. Because Omega 6 is a fat that your body needs to improve your overall health it validates why canola is a healthy oil. And it will only enhance your health because of that specific fatty acid alone. And because canola contains a high amount of Omega 6.

The polyunsaturated fats in canola include linoleic acid which is known as an Omega 6 fatty acid. And alpha linoleic acid is a type of Omega 3 fatty acid that comes from plant sources.

Alpha linolenic acid, (ALA) has been shown in studies to lower bad cholesterol levels, blood pressure levels, triglycerides, and total cholesterol levels.

Other research studies have found that Canola oil may delay heart disease progression, promote a reduction in body weight and reduce cardiometabolic risk factors. An independent 2021 research study found that canola improved the lipid profile and insulin sensitivity in women with PCOS.

Other alternative oils that are considered healthy are olive oil, avocado oil, flaxseed oil, walnut oil, hempseed oil.

The Bottom Line is canola is considered a healthy oil due to it being high in Omega 6 and containing Omega 3 fatty acids. Research studies have shown that it can lower bad cholesterol levels, blood pressure levels, triglycerides, and total cholesterol levels.
