What are the health benefits of Alkaline water? Alkaline water has that name because of how much PH level it has. The PH level determines how acidic or alkaline a substance is when measured between 0 to 14. The alkaline minerals in alkaline water are calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium, etc.
Alkaline water has a higher PH level than drinking water. In fact, the PH level of Alkaline water is around 8 or 9. And the PH level of drinking water is 7. There are a lot of mixed reviews and studies about alkaline water. There is quite a bit of health professionals who don’t believe that there is enough research data to support that alkaline water is better than regular water.

Some of the few studies on Alkaline water:
- A 2021 study revealed that alkaline water improved bone density in postmenopausal women with osteoporosis.
- A small 2018 study in Japan showed that drinking alkaline water improved the stool in 60 people.
- A 2020 study showed that when mice were drinking alkaline water improved markers of aging in the DNA.
It is important to know that there isn’t any evidence that shows that there are any negative side effects to drinking alkaline water. It is considered safe and healthy because of its natural minerals. According to the water defense the healthiest water to drink is spring water.
When it comes to PH level if the substance you are drinking is at a 1 then it is acidic. And if it is at a PH level of 13 then it has a lot of alkaline.
The Bottom Line is alkaline water that is relatively safe water to drink in terms of how healthy it is. The research studies out there are mixed in terms of it being healthier than drinking regular water. Whether you are drinking regular water or alkaline water the difference in the health benefits is minimal.
