Bananas are low in protein and low in fats and it makes up 8% of the total calorie content in the banana. But it is high in carbs and that is why banana is a great fruit to eat in the morning because it helps gives your body an energy boost.

As we know protein is important because it builds muscle, handles tissue repair, and promotes bone health. Fats are also important because it provides energy, plays a role in hormone production, and helps improve bone health. Because bananas lack these two important macronutrients it isn’t considered the best complete balanced meal.

Bananas is a low calorie/high nutrient food that can help you lose weight. You can eat as many bananas as you want as long as you are balancing the rest of your calories with complex carbs, proteins, and healthy fat foods.

One to two bananas a day is considered a moderate intake to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle.  If you add a banana as a snack with a nice protein meal like a chicken breast. And a brown rice for your complex carbs and then add a healthy fat like some unsalted almonds then you have a balanced meal there.

The Whole Health Organization advises you to eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day. And adding a banana for each of your meals is a great way to achieve your daily fruit and vegetables intake.

The Bottom Line are bananas is a healthy fruit that is low in calories and high in nutrients. It is low in protein and fats but high in carbs, so it is not the best complete meal.

It is a great snack to add to your meals. And it is a great fruit to eat for breakfast to help give you that boost of energy in the morning time.
