Why is my stomach always bloated at the end of the day? This is an issue that most people deal with especially after they eat. And some people deal it with more than others. And some people’s bloating is more severe than other people from a distended stomach perspective.

There is a lot of different variables on why you are consistently bloated.

Why is my stomach always bloated at the end of the day?

#1 Eating Too Much Food. Remember your stomach is like the size of your fist so it has a limited capacity of how much food it can hold. And if you eat too much food at one time then that capacity is stretched out to its limits. And if your food contains a lot of salt then that can help with increasing the bloating of your stomach. And eating too much food can cause stomach pain.

#2 Eating Too Fast. If you eat too fast then the more air you swallow and if the air passes through your intestines, then it can make you feel bloated. This can also cause abdominal pain.

#3 Eating Dairy. 65% of our society is lactose intolerant so eating foods like milk, ice cream, cheese can cause bloating, gassing, belly pain and bloating. And this happens if you can’t digest any type of dairy properly.

#4 Drinking Soda. The bubbles in any type of soda are filled with gas. And when you drink them, it can fill up your digestive system. When it reaches your intestines, it stays there until you pass it. A lot of sodas are filled with a lot of artificial sugar so that alone will also make you bloated while retaining water.

#5 Too Much Fat. Eating foods with too much fat will make you bloated. And this happens because your body take a longer time to break fat down vs other types of food. So, it stays in your body longer causing the bloated effect.

#6 Monthly Period. When a woman is going through her monthly menstrual cycle it will make you hold and retain a lot of water. And this will make you feel bloated.

#7 Celiac Disease. If you have celiac disease, it means your body responds poorly to eating any type of gluten foods such as wheat, barley, and prepackaged foods. When this happens it attacks the lining of your digestive system which causes bloating. The only way to prevent this is to stay away from gluten foods.

#8 Fructose. This type of sugar is hard for your body to break down than other types. Fructose is in a lot of foods that have high fructose corn syrup. And this can cause bloating and gassing.

#9 Fodmaps. These types of carbs are digested near the end of the intestine and bacteria feeds on them. For some people this causes bloating and fluid buildup. Fodmaps are in fruits, vegetables, dairy, and wheat, etc. The only way to find out what foods affect you is to keep a food diary of what you eat daily to determine what causes you bloating.

Why is my stomach always bloated at the end of the day?

The Bottom Line is there a lot of things that can cause bloating and it is almost unavoidable. If the bloating goes away after an hour or two, then you are ok. But if you see that the bloating never really goes away then you may want to consult with your healthcare provider or doctor. And then find out why you are having these issues.

But sometimes we don’t know that we are allergic to certain foods until we have these types of bloating issues. The only way to get that additional information is document everything you eat daily.
