Why Am I cold all the time? You can get cold easily because of health conditions such as anemia, vitamin deficiency or dehydration. There was a small study that has shown that women get colder than men because they have a lower resting metabolic rate.

For people that don’t know about anemia it is when you don’t have enough red healthy blood cells. Anemia is a condition when your body doesn’t make enough red healthy blood cells, or it doesn’t have enough iron.

Some of the causes that lead to anemia are.

  • Blood Loss
  • Malnutrition
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome, IBS)

Some of the symptoms of anemia are chest pain, weakness, pale skin, dizziness, headache, etc.

If you have a lower body weight or low bodyfat that can make you colder than most people. Why? Because you don’t have much fat to help insulate your body.

People that are Vitamin B12 deficient are people that follow a vegan diet, they have had gastrointestinal surgery or have had digestive issues. So, if you are in this category, you are more than likely to get colder more easily than other people.

It is important to know that if you take beta blockers which are drugs that treat blood pressure and cardiovascular issues then the side effects to this is feeling cold all the time. And some other medications that can make you feel cold is ADHD, (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) drugs as well as Adderall.

Migraine medications such as ergotamine and decongestants such as pseudoephedrine can also make your body feel cold.

If you have artery disease or atherosclerosis which is plaque buildup, this can cause you to feel colder than normal. Having peripheral arterial disease is the narrowing of arteries that carry blood to your limbs, organs, etc.

Some of the basic symptoms of this atherosclerosis disease are:

  • Weak pulse in your feet and hands.
  • Or numbness, pain or cramps in your butt, legs, feet, etc.
  • And, slower than normal healing of wounds.

If you have diabetes which causes kidney and circulation issues that can make your body, feel colder than normal. Both Type 2 and Type 1 diabetes can make you feel cold in your body.

The Bottom Line is some of the health issues that are associated with being cold all the time are diabetes, atherosclerosis, being Vitamin B-12 deficient, anemic, having lower body weight and lower bodyfat, etc.
