The FDA has not approved this drug for humans it is not available for humans in the United States. Outside the United States Clenbuterol is available by prescription only for the treatment of asthma.
Clenbuterol is not considered a steroid, but it has properties like anabolic steroids. People that typically use clenbuterol are also known to take growth hormone and other anabolic steroids in conjunction. And those individuals are elite bodybuilders, figure competitors, bikini competitors, etc.
Studies show that clenbuterol stimulates muscle growth and repair in rats while preventing atrophy in mice and rats. Other studies show that clenbuterol increases muscle mass in livestock. It’s listed on the World Anti-doping Agency’s prohibited list.
Some of the side effects of clenbuterol are the following:
- Anxiety
- Chest Pain
- Increased heart rate
- Rapid breathing
- Heart palpitations
- Electrolyte imbalance
A recommended daily dosage of clenbuterol for controlling asthma is between 0.02 and 0.003 milligrams per day. Clenbuterol comes in tablet or inhaler form for asthma treatment. When people are taking Clenbuterol for the sake of fat loss, muscle building or performance enhancement purposes to dosage is 0.06 and 0.12 milligrams per day.
And this is more than what the recommended dosage is for asthma treatment. If used for performance enhancing purposes it is available in injection, tablet, and liquid form.
If a professional athlete takes Clenbuterol and tests positive for this drug they can be banned from competing in that respective professional sport.
The Bottom Line is Clenbuterol, a drug that was created to treat people that have asthma or COPD. But it is used off label as an illegal drug to lose body fat in a rapid way as well as build lean muscle. It is not only available in the United States, and it is not approved by the FDA.
