What are the benefits of drinking Coffee? One of the health benefits is its ability to boost energy levels because of its caffeine intake. The caffeine in coffee is a central nervous stimulant that is known to fight fatigue and heighten energy levels. There was a small study on cyclists who consumed caffeine and the result was it significantly decreased the levels of fatigue for those athletes.

Studies On Improving Brain Health

Some studies have suggested that drinking coffee can help protect against neurological disorders like Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease. There was one review study that revealed that people who consumed caffeine regularly had a significantly lower risk of developing Parkinson disease.

There was a review of 11 observational studies that revealed in more than 29,000 people that showed that the more people consumed coffee the lower risk they had of developing Parkinson’s disease. A couple of other studies have shown that moderate coffee consumption is linked to a lower risk of dementia and cognitive decline.

Another research study showed that people that had higher coffee consumption was linked to decreased bodyfat in men and women. Another study showed that people who drank one daily cup to two cups of coffee per day were 17% more likely to be physically active and meet their recommended workout demands.

Drinking Coffee Linked To Reducing Depression

There was a study that revealed that drinking 4 cups of coffee per day had a significantly lower level of depression by 8%. Another study showed in more than 200,000 people who drink coffee was linked to a lower risk of suicide.

Some research studies have shown that drinking coffee can have a positive impact on heart health. One research study showed that drinking 3 to 5 cups of coffee per day was linked to a 15% decreased risk of heart disease. Another study review revealed that drinking 3 to 4 cups of coffee daily was associated with a 21% lower risk of stroke.

Drinking Coffee Can Potentially Increase Longevity

There was one review out of 40 studies that drinking two to four cups of coffee per day was associated with a lower risk of death regardless of age, alcohol consumption, weight, etc. Another study revealed that one cup of coffee was linked to a lower risk of death from cancer. More research still needs to be done to 100% validate the longevity of life because it does give good promise.

It Can Potentially Increase Athletic Performance

Some athletes drink coffee before their matches or games to improve their endurance, performance and to give them that solid energy boost. I know personally I drink coffee before I workout sometimes. And at times I sip it while I am working out and I do feel that it increases my energy levels.

 I also feel it gives me an extra small boost in strength. There was a study done on 126 adults who drank coffee, and the result was that they increased their physical performance, and they had faster gait speed.

Lower Risk Of Type 2 Diabetes

Research has shown that drinking coffee regularly can lower the risk of developing type 2 diabetes over the long term. There was a research review study that showed that drinking one cup of coffee per day was linked to a 6% lower risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.

The Bottom Line is drinking coffee in moderation which would be 3 to 4 cups per day is linked to a plethora of health benefits. One of those health benefits are increasing energy levels, protecting against chronic health diseases, promoting weight management, and increasing athletic performance.
