What are meat sweats? Meat sweats is when you excessively sweat after you consume massive quantities of meat. This can happen because you may have a food allergy or food intolerance or eat massive amounts of meat.

When a random person has a food allergy their immune system can react to a particular protein such as meat. And that small amount of protein can immediately cause symptoms such as hives, rash, digestive problems, or a potential life-threatening condition such as anaphylaxis.

Some of the past research has shown that it is rare to have meat allergies among children and adults. But when those symptoms do arise it can cause diarrhea, vomiting, runny nose, cough, anaphylaxis, vomiting, etc.

There is a research study that has shown that a certain bite from a tick can cause people to develop an allergy to red meat.

What is digestion?

Digestion can create heat in the body and how this works is the following:

Your body converts food into energy which uses as fuel to live which is known as your metabolism. The basal metabolic rate is the amount of energy your body needs to function at rest. The more energy you expend the hotter your body will feel. And when you sweat it is an indication that your body is cooling down.

When you eat meat or any type of similar food your body expends extra energy breaking down that food. It is possible for some people if they eat large amounts of meat, that it will take so much energy out of you that your body will sweat to cool it down.

There was a research study that showed that if your body uses more energy to break down animal protein than vegetable-based proteins than soy. One of the best ways to avoid sweating while eating meat is eating less meat.

The less food that you eat equals less energy which equals less heat created.

The Bottom Line is some people can sweat while eating meat, but it doesn’t happen to everybody. And if you are experiencing these symptoms often then you want to consult your doctor.
