Here are the nutritional contents of one large egg.

  • Calories- 78
  • Protein- 6 grams
  • Fat- 5 grams
  • Carbs- 1 gram
  • Selenium- 28% of the Daily Value
  • Riboflavin- 20% of the Daily Value
  • Vitamin B12- 23% of the Daily Value

It is considered a great weight loss food because of how filling it is. There have been research studies that have shown that eating eggs for breakfast will cause you to eat at least 500 fewer calories. They are low in calories and high nutrients, so it helps to suppress your appetite and keep you fuller.

If you are lactose tolerant eating eggs shouldn’t cause you any side effects. Why? Because eggs are not considered a dairy product and it doesn’t contain any lactose or milk protein.

It is important to understand that about 75% of people worldwide cannot digest lactose. People that have lactose intolerance issues can develop digestive symptoms such as gas, stomach cramps, diarrhea, etc.

The single difference because eggs are not considered dairy is that eggs come from birds and dairy comes from milk. One of the biggest reasons why eggs are grouped with dairy is because of how it is stored in the grocery dairy aisle right next to one another. And this potentially can lead people to believe they are related.

The Bottom Line is that eggs are not considered a dairy product because they come from birds. And birds are not considered mammals as mammals are cows or goats which produce milk which is dairy.
