Why are gyms expensive? Fitness is at all time high when it comes to figuring out where and how should I work out and stay in shape. The resources to workout are unlimited because you don’t even have to step into a gym to work out these days. You can get every single workout in a gym or at home.

And I do think that exercising at home is something that is very appealing to good portion of our society. Some people like intimacy and privacy if they are going to sweat and get their butt kicked in a workout. So how expensive is to workout now?

Is it high or low? Right now, is the cheapest time to work out because of technology. You can sign up for any of these monthly workout membership sites and pay anywhere from 8 dollars to $15 dollars a month and have access to an unlimited amount of home workouts. And workout with your favorite trainer or instructor in your living room with little to no equipment.

Why are gyms expensive?

A cup of coffee is $2.95 and over a 30-day period if you drink coffee once a day that is about $90 dollars. So, drinking coffee every day for one month is six times higher monthly then doing a workout on any of these fitness premium membership subscription platforms.

It is the same price that you would pay for a monthly Netflix membership. If you are a working professional, you should be to afford fifteen dollars a month for premium fitness membership platform app.

The fitness apps are the cheapest compared to a boutique gym cost. But even a boutique fitness gym is still economical depending on the city the boutique gym is at. The best way to look at working out and prioritizing a budget for signing up for any fitness gym or app is to look at this a preventive health cost. Most people have health insurance paid by their employer so signing up for a gym membership or fitness app is your monthly preventive healthcare cost.

If you look at it that way, it makes easier to budget and prioritize. It is no different then buy food or water at the grocery store. You always budget for food and water because without that we wont live that long.

You do the exact same thing for staying in shape and there is no excuse for not creating a small budget for this.  It can be done especially if the price is as cheap as 8 to 10 dollars a month for a fitness membership app.

Fitness clubs, gym chains will always attract the everyday average person that likes to workout at the local 24 hour fitness.  We live in a world where there are so many physical activity options that it is really up to you what works best for your comfortability and conveniency.

Joining a gym has a membership cost and it can be up to $100 dollars a month which is expensive for most people. But I see people that buy starbucks coffee everyday and 30 days of daily coffee at $3.25 comes out to $97.00.

It comes down to what your priorities are and what you are willing to invest and spend your money. It is probably better for your guilty pleasure to spend your money on exercise. Why? Because you will live longer and there will be less visits to the doctor’s office.
